DYSLEXIA PROGRAM IS A WINNER!

Dyslexia is a functional disorder which usually affects reading and spelling. Our academy takes a unique and highly effective approach in teaching students with dyslexia.
Director: Mrs. Cindy Hall, BS.Ed.
Our experience is that children are bright, inquisitive and eager to learn. Sometimes, however, there can be special challenges.
The child may need extra help with language, spelling, history and reading. Our program places the child in a classroom environment that was created with him/her in mind--with a specially trained teacher who truly understands the child's needs. One who has experience in assesing and meeting those needs. A teacher who will lovingly and patiently emerge the child in.....

- Hands on, fun, educationally enriching activities!
Following an individualilzed education plan, where the parents have input and are included as part of the team, the dyslexia program strives to daily increase the child's confidence and knowledge. The ultimate goal: to transition the child into the age appropriate grade or classroom at Faith Christian Academy. However, the specialized teacher and other members of the team will be here to act as a "safety net." Supporting. Helping. Caring. A foundation for SUCCESS.
Your child can learn, grow and advance as quickly as she/he is able. The special dyslexia teacher cooperates with the regular classroom teacher and monitors the child's progress regularly. She is ready with help and support every day if needed.
Still, the student is not isolated from his or her class. He will interact with the other students on the same grade level, and will participate in a majority of the classes that other boys and girls take. One-on-one or small group tutoring will be available in the areas where the child needs special help or support.
