Clubs

Students in grades 1-8 may participate on the following teams:Math Olympics, Regional Spelling Bee Competition, and speech and fine arts competitions. These teams provide an opportunity for students to showcase their gifts and talents within the school community and beyond. Students who qualify are taken to compete with other Christian schools in North Alabama.  Students in grades 7-12 have opportunites for additional extra curricular activities, including basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball and cheerleading.  Several other clubs and activities are also listed on this page.

In the FCA science fair, conducted annually, students research and build a project for school competition--and the school winners advance to regional competition at Calhoun Community College. Purposes of the Faith Christian Academy science far are

to stimulate student interest in all fields of science.
to give students an opportunity to learn first hand the process of scientific investigation.
to give students the opportunity to present and discuss their findings with other students and with scientists in the community.                              to recognize and reward outstanding student work.

Faith Christian Academy teaches science in all grade levels from K5-12th grade, culminating with Physics in the senior year.

Be sure to also visit our robotics team page which includes recent photographs of activities in our robotics lab.

The yearbook staff produces the annual yearbook and allows students experience in journalism, photography, editing and production. Students will be assigned tasks within their field of interest and asked to complete the tasks by an assigned deadline.  This enriches the students by allowing them to work in an area of their own interests, while it teaches them responsibility and experience which will later be necessary in their chosen vocations.  Students volunteer for yearbook staff positions and are selected by the sponsor (teacher) in charge of the yearbook staff.

Students in grades 5-9 may be invited to participate in the National Junior Beta Club while students in grades 10-12 may be invited to participate in the National Beta Club. Inductees are selected based partly on academic achievement, but also upon character and leadership qualities.  The purpose of the club is to encourage scholarship, service to the community and leadership. Christian and Biblical values guide the philosophy, activities and projects of the club.

Faith Christian Academy maintains an active chapter of the National Honor Society, named the Dwight L. Moody Chapter of the NHS.  Membership in the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors available to the high school student.  Membership is extended  to students in grades 10-12 with the highest academic achievement based on grades and standardized test scores--but also considered as qualifications are character, deportment and potential leadership ability.  The goals of National Honor Society at Faith Christian Academy are to:

  • recognize truly outstanding academic achievement
  • develop and demonstrate leadership ability
  • provide varied enrichment opportunities for students
  • provide service to the school and community
